Educational Resources

CUJF and the Champaign-Urbana Jewish Endowment Foundation both offer scholarships for various educational programs including but not limited to: summer camps, travel to Israel, and participation at conferences.   

CUJF also has worked to create an extensive video collection at the local Urbana Library called the 
Jewish Heritage Video Collection.

Locally, Sinai Temple offers both Religious and Hebrew School programs for children from Preschool through High School.  Chabad of Champaign-Urbana and the Hillel Foundation at the University of Illinois both offer educational programs, classes, lectures, and presentations throughout the year.

Sinai Temple is affiliated with the Reform movement; the congregation encourages pluralism and schedules both 
Reform and Conservative minyans on a regular basis.  Reform services meet every Friday evening, two Saturday mornings a month (Torah Minyan and English Service), and all major holidays.  Conservative services are held one or two Saturday mornings a month (Egalitarian Traditional Minyan) and on all major holidays.  Check the Calendar for up-to-date information.

Hillel holds Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox services on all major holidays and every Friday evening that UIUC is in session.  Orthodox services are also held on Saturday mornings throughout the year (confirm with Steve Scher, sjscher@eiu.edu, when UIUC is not in session).  Orthodox Mincha/Ma'ariv services are held Sunday-Thursday when UIUC is in session.  All services are lay-led.  Check the Calendar for up-to-date information.
